Because of our growth and increased demand we have expanded our small lens polishing capabilities.  With the addition of four more machines and two interferometers, we have 36 more spindles in operation.

We have created a new work cell with the capabilities of the operator to block, polish, and inspect surface figure and quality all in the same area.  By concentrating all of these activities in such a small area it has allowed us to quickly increase our production while maintaining quality.  Working with the small lens polishing area allows us to experiment in areas such as the use of different polishing materials, polishing media, speeds, and pressure all in a very controlled way.  This will help us meet the demands of increased production in this area as we grow.

Russell Branscum

Russell Branscum has joined the LaCroix Optical team as Controller.  He comes to us from White-Rodgers, Inc. where he served as controller for twelve years.  He has an MBA from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and is a 1977 graduate of Lyon College.  He earned his CPA certificate in May, 1984.  As Controller, Russell will be responsible for LaCroix's finance, accounting, and information systems functions.  He enjoys camping, hiking, gardening, and exploring the Ozarks.
